1. SUPPORTING LYMPHATIC FLOW
Lipoedema can place mechanical stress on delicate lymphatic structures, particularly as abnormal adipose tissue increases. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Dr Vodder method) uses gentle, rhythmic techniques to support lymphatic drainage and fluid movement.
The aim before surgery is to optimise tissue fluid dynamics and establish a foundation for post-operative lymphatic care.
2. ADDRESSING TISSUE CONGESTION
Lipoedema tissue may develop areas of interstitial fluid accumulation and congestion. Deep Oscillation® uses a pulsed electrostatic field to create gentle interactions within the tissue layers, producing very small internal tissue deformations without requiring significant downward pressure. This is used as an adjunct to MLD when the clinical objective is to support fluid movement and tissue pliability.

3. SOFTENING FIBROTIC TISSUE
With progressive Lipoedema, chronic inflammation and connective-tissue remodelling can contribute to fibrosis and induration. Fibrotic tissue becomes denser, less elastic and less mobile. 4. PREPARATION IS ALSO ABOUT POST-OPERATIVE RECOVERY
Pre-operative treatment provides an opportunity to establish a lymphatic care strategy before surgery takes place.
After surgery, the focus changes to managing post-operative oedema, swellings, bruising, tissue congestion, mobility and scar tissue — always according to the surgeon’s protocol and clinical clearance.
